Is there an elegant way of exporting an existing track from within the mobile app? If not, in what folder does the gpx file reside?

    Howdy,
Yes you can export a track from the mobile app. Go to the map items screen (middle menu item on the top bar) and there is a down arrow for download. You can then select what format you want to save the file (GPX, KML, GeoJSON). You can also export from the web interface.

    Best,
    Ben

Make sure you have a map with at least one object open, it only appears
once there is something to export

    Thanks for your patience Ben.
How do I change recorded track in blue (above) to an object?

You have to finish the recording. It won't be able to export until it's a finalized object. Make sure when you save the item you select Map + Account as well.

    Best,
    Ben

Ben, sorry to belabor the object creation, but the “Red” track was saved, and visible in my desktop acc’t. I even recorded this AM another track “Test2” & saved and both appear in my desktop acc’t......but how to export “Red” from the mobile app? They don’t appear as objects, unless I’m not looking in the right spot. Could there be a bug in the PIE Droid edition?

    Cheers,
    Jim

It sounds like most likely when you created the recording you didn't have a
map open or didn't select save to map and account so it saved to account
only which is why you don't see an object on the map is also possible you
don't have the map you saved the object to open. Tracks are objects of a
map and live in that map typically. The track on mobile if it didn't end up
saved to map should be visible in "your tracks" on the left side menu and
    you can download from there.

There is no option for download on that screen? Only to turn on/off image of track.

You're correct sorry I keep forgetting what is in mobile that's been
released. Tracks must be saved to the map in order to export on mobile at
this time. We are working on implementing that for the future.

Sorry so let me just lay this out clearly. When you go to make a track you need a map open. You should select the option to Save to Map + Account in creating that track. To export that track you need to have the same map you saved to open and then go into map objects and use the download logo. Otherwise you have to download through the web unfortunately.

Before the app comes out of beta we will enable all tracks to be downloaded but we are still working on it.
