New app

I like the look of the new Android app so far. Way to go. I'm heading out for a little scouting trip tomorrow morning and am excited to try some of the features.

In the meantime, one annoyance I've had -- I'll be out hiking and I'll find some tracks or elk sign, say, and I'll quickly add a marker via the app. Then later I might add another marker showing the easiest spot to gain a ridge, for example. But 3 or 4 times now I've just done this on a basic mapbuilder topo or hybrid layer, without having a saved map open. Then later that night or a few days later I'll look to review my markers and because I closed out of the app they're gone.

It's my fault, and now I try and remember to save everything to a catch-all map I've named Tracks. But it'd be a nice feature to either save things to a default folder/map if none was specified, or prompt a user to create a new map or select an existing one.

Thank you for the kind words regarding the app. It is still in beta, so bugs are being worked out and new features are being added with each new release. Speaking of which, we just added a new track recording UI, and the ability to save tracks to your account rather than to a map. This should help with the shortcomings you've described above.

    Thanks for using CalTopo,
